No end of times.
We decided to have Battleline. No roll for scenario. Terrain was randomized as BRB 8th page 142, how ever as this was first time for my opponent to play warhammer we decided that there is no magical terrain, so all terrain is just mundane terrain. I won the terrain placement first pic Terrain placement order
- Building on left
- Tower
- Building on top
- Wall on top right
- wall on middle
- wall on top left
- wall on bottom
- building
I won the table side picking and my opponent won the first deployment. Deployment order was
- Executioners
- White lions
- Black ark corsairs
- Phoenix guard
- Cold one knights
- Ellyrian reavers on left
- Darkspears
- Silver helms
- Reaper bt
- Ellyrian reavers on left
- Characters
- Rest of High Elves
Sorceress got Earthblood and dwellers from below. Malekith had Doom bolt, Word of Pain, Soul Stealer and Arnzipal's Black Horror.
My archmage had Drain Magic, Soul Quench, Apotheosis and Hand of Glory.
I vanguarded with both reavers.
Airo won the first turn with solid roll of 6.
WoM: 3+3 and my opponent channeled 1 PD
- Earthblood 2 PD, passed
- Upgraded Black Horror 5 PD, irrestible force. Total damage caused was 1 Reaver and 5 phoenix guard. Miscast drained Malekith level by 1 and caused him to lose Black Horror.
At shooting RBT failed to do single wound on white lions.
March test passed with reavers and they went on redirectiong duty. Other reavers started to hunt bolt thrower. Phoenix guard blocked the whitelions flank from malekith and went touched the fence so they could claim defending bonus.
WoM 5+3
- Drain magic 2 PD, drained earthblood.
- Upgraded Hand of Glory of White lions. Increased stas by 2
- Apotheosis on Ellyrian revers 1 PD dispelled
- Soul Quench to Corsairs 2 PD, dispelled
- Ring of fury to corsairs 2 PD, killed 1
At shooting my reavers managed to do single wound on reaper. Archers tried to shoot malekith with no success.
Magic: 5+3 and my opponent channeled two power dices
- Upgraded Word of Pain to phoenix guard 4 PD. I decided to save my dispel dices on incoming 6 PD dwellers
- Dwellers from below 6 PD, natural failuri.
At shooting reaper unleashed 6 shots against incoming reavers and only managed to kill 1.
At close combat my champion issued heroic challenge and against all odds the 3++ champion was trumped down by the Dragons fiersome stomps, but still with only 1 wound. Malekith lost the combat but managed to avoid break test. I reformed from victory to face the dragon.
Archers moved so they would be in range to corsairs
WoM 5+4 no channels
- Upgraded hand of glory to white lions 2 PD, my opponent dispelled it ( This was lucky stroke for me as I realized that I was going to cast draing magic to get rid of the hex, but it would have removed my hand of glory also)
- Draing Magic 2 PD, opponent failed to dispel
- Apotheosis 2 PD, passed I gave reavers fear ;)
At shooting combined shots from archers and reavers killed one corsairs.
Malekith and his trusted Seraphon killed 8 Phoenix guard, but due steadfast the guard holded. Silverhelms did semi ok damage but failed armor saves miserable. Reavers destroyed the reaper. Executioners managed to kill 5 white lion as Frostheart and Whitelions killed 13 executioners. They broke and I pursed with both units. On retrospective I could have moved my phoenix + whitelions so that they would have overrun to corsairs, and used reavers to gain second round of combat.
Corsairs charged to reavers and reavers fled. They rolled double 6 as flee roll. My opponent tried to redirect to frost phoenix, but that failed. Additionally he rolled charge distance of 6+1 and needed 8 to reach the reavers. So they moved just perfectly giving my frostie rear charge. 2 Reavers died on dangerous terrain test
WoM 2+2
- Upgraded word of pain to white lions 4 PD, dispelled it with only 2 PD.
At close combat darkspears managed to kill one silverhelm and I killed 3 , He had 2 rank and banner so I lost the combat by 1. Holded. He reformed to 6 wide formation and I also managed to reform to gain extra horse attack. Whitelions suffered 2 wounds and they anhilated everysingle cold one rider, even though only half of them were in front arc. I reformed as much I could .
My battle standard bearer issued a challange to Malekith. Battle standard bearer was also trumped down with thunder stomps. Due steadfast my phoenix guards still holded.
My reavers failed to rally.
WoM 5+6 no channels
- Drain magic 2 PD, Malekith failed to dispel (even with the magical circlet) (he used 3 dices naturally and then 1 bonus from failure, but it wasn't enough)
- Apotheosis 2 PD, Irrestible force miscast result 8, damage was warded by banner of world dragon. 6 Dices was lost from pool
- Hand of glory 1 PD, failed to dispel with army and increased weapon skill by 2. 3 dices from armypool wasn't enough.
At close combat Silverhelms managed to break the darkspears and chase them down. Then something most epic happened with the Malekith vs. Phoenix guard fight. My opponent managed to deal total 13 wounds and only 1 was unsaved by 4+ ward and phownix guards did 1 wound on Seraphon.. Best part was that Malekith rolled break test 10 and if I wouldn't take banner of the wolrd dragon he would have broken. Whitelions and Forstie did tons of damage to corsairs and received only 1 wound from enemy master. As Malekith was locked in close combat for one turn I pursued with both and caught the corsairs.
At this moment my opponent decided to yield as he though that he couldn't win the game anymore, but only to claim little more points.
Final score was about 2675 - 255
