Deployment

My opponent won the pick for deployment zone.

Harbringer of Change generated ( 1 + 4 )

Deployment order was following:

- Horros + Harbringer

- Lion Guard + Commander

- Rest of the Demons

I won the first turn

Turn 1 - Daemon Legion

MOVEMENT:

- Little advance

MAGIC: 6+1 no pc

- None spell cast (not enough range and all the spells were mostly useless in this occasion

SHOOTING:

- Whopping 6 archers died due the horrors shot. Panic test passed

Turn 1 - Highborn Elves

MOVEMENT:

- Full advance

SHOOTING:

- Archers managed to kill 5 sirens!

Turn 2 - Daemon Legion

MOVEMENT:

- Redirect with furies

MAGIC: 6+1 + PD

- Hand of Heaven to Lion Guard 2 PD, 2 DD dispel

- Spectral Balde to Sirens 2 PD

- Touch of Reaper against Commander 3 PD, 4 DD dispel failed. Commander suffered 1 wound

- Cleasing fire to Slaughterer Champion 3 PD, failed to cast

SHOOTING:

- Two lion guard died

TURN ANALYZE:

- Citizen Spearmen were 15 inches away from sirens flank. I made ton of consideration wether use Mounted Sirens to redirect spearmen or not. Should that charge be succesfull to Sirens flank overrun from furies would made cripling effect. I decided to risk it and in best case scenario get a nice rear charge with sirens.

- I just realized that casting that Spectral blades on sirens didn't have any effect (unless the citizen spears would have managed to charge the flank)

Turn 2 - Highborn Elves

MOVEMENT:

- Lion Guard charges to furies

- Citizen Spears tried to charge the flank of Sirens. They rolled 9 :D

SHOOTING:

- 2 Sirens shot to death

Turn 3 - Daemon Legion

MOVEMENT:

- Slaughteres charge to Lionguard (almost rear charge, I should have moved sirens more carefully)

- Mounted Sirens rear charge to citisen spears.

MAGIC: 1+1

- Evocation of Souls to Slaughterers 2 PD (7)

SHOOTING:

- 3 Archers shot to death

CLOSE COMBAT:

- Mounted Sirens killed 5 spears. Steadfast hold, failed to reform

- Lionguard killed 4 Siren and 1 Slaughterer. Sirens + Slaughterers killed 7 lionguards. Lionguard broke with roll of 8 (thanks evocation!) and they double 6 ran and just bounced on the other side of ruins losing two guards to dangerous terrain

TURN ANALYZE:

- When I rolled snake eyes for magic I though that this battle is going to have a really hard time. Evocation of souls with -2 LD and possibility to cause fear in the Lionguard seemed the best option to cast.

- I was surprised how well those mounted Sirens performed. I started to ponder that how would Harbringer of Lust with the Dance of Death work with them. It surely seemed like a good option.

Turn 3 - Highborn Elves

MOVEMENT:

- Swift reform with Archers

- Rally for Lion Guard

SHOOTING:

- 2 Slaughterers died

CLOSE COMBAT:

- 4 Spearmen and 1 Mounted Siren died. This time My opponent chose not to turn his back.

Turn 4 - Daemon Legion

MOVEMENT:

- Sirens declared charge to Citizen Archers, they stand and shoot and killed 3 sirens (leaving only 1 left)

- Slaughterers declared charge to Citizen Archers, who chose to flee and roll horrible low. Siren cought the Archers. Slaughterers redirected charge to Citizen Spears

- Horrors charge Citizen Spears

MAGIC: 1+3

- Evocation of Souls 2 PD (9) 3 DD dispel

- Spectral Blades to Mounted Sirens 2 PD succesull

SHOOTING: None

CLOSE COMBAT:

- Citizen Spears got badly maimed. They Broke but none of the daemons catched them.

Turn 4 - Highborn Elves

MOVEMENT:

- Citizen Spears failed ld 10 rally and fled the table

- Lion Guard swift reformed

Turn 5 - Daemon Legion

MOVEMENT:

- Moved to make little room for horrors shooting.

MAGIC: 4+4 + PD

- Evocation to Slaughters 2 PD ( Snake eyes )

- Hand of Heaven 4 PD ( 13 ) Dispelled

SHOOTING:

- 2 Lion died

TURN ANALYZE:

- Oh the irony good magic roll and totally failed.

Turn 5 - Highborn Elves

MOVEMENT:

- Lion Guard charges to Slaughterers

CLOSE COMBAT:

- Commander alongside with his comrades failed most of their attacks. They won combat by just one and I failed break test by just one.

Turn 6 - Daemon Legion

MOVEMENT:

- Mounted sirens and Horrors charge

MAGIC: 4+2 + PD

- Evocation of Souls 3 PD, Dispelled

- Cleansing Fire to Horror champion 3 PD

CLOSE COMBAT:

- Slaughterers got killed. Mounted Sirens got some damage, but the real MVP was horror champion with 10 str 4 breath weapon attack. Horrors got stranded out from combat, but luckily Mounted Sirens managed to catch fleeing commander and wiped the enemy out.

GAME ANALYZE:

- As said this was my opponents very first game of warhammer. He had played couple games of Mordheim so he wasn't totally fresh meat.

- I really liked the Evocation of Souls spell, since it is trait spell you can always get it and effective -2 ld combined with fears possibility of reducing enemy weapon skill it seems to be really good spell.
