Deployment

DEPLOYMENT

- My opponent won the table side and I placed the first unit. I don't have my notes so I don't have the exact drop order, but I had pretty much predeterminated formation how to deploy. My opponent deployed starting from the flanks.

- My opponents shaman had some spells (no notes =) ) If my memory serves me right he rolled 1 +1 + 4 +5 and chose number 6 from Thaumaturgy

- I had all spells from evocation due Ark of Ages

- I really didn't know where to place those scouts. I said to my opponent that they are going to kill his shaman :D

I won the first turn roll.

Turn 1 - Cursed Kings

MOVEMENT:

- I didn't move much small adjustment. I placed warsphinx to theoretical maximum range from the frenzy autarch.

MAGIC:

- if my memore serves me right I managed to cast Whispers of the Veil to his Great Khan unit

- He dispelled Touch of the Reaper on Great Khan

- Casket did couple wounds on Scrapapult. He had some special ogre item that allowed him to reroll leadership test, without it Scrapapult would have been destroyed.

SHOOTING:

- Those scouts did 3 wounds on the shaman! Other shooting was targeted to those big monsters and I think I managed to do wound.

Turn 1 - Ogre Khans

MAGIC:

- My opponent cast Wrath of God with overwhelming Force. I tried to dispel it but failed. As a result of miscast the Shaman was destroyed.

Turn 2 - Cursed Kings

MOVEMENT:

- I charged with chariots to Tribesmen 2

- I charged with Dreadsphinx to Tribesmen 2 they fled -> redirected charge to Tribesmen 1 and charged to it with battlesphinx

- Scorpion emerged near Aurorch, Stalkers near Mammoth

MAGIC:

- I casted rerolls for battle sphinx and attemtepd to cast the extra overrun pursuit so It would have better chance to get to great khan unit.

SHOOTING:

- Stalkers destroyed Mammoth, and I did wounds on big furry monster

Turn 2 - Ogre Khans

MOVEMENT:

- Rocky furry and Tuskers charged scorpions ( Tuskers had good chance for overruing to warsphinx flank.

- Great Khan managed to slip past fleeing ogres and my dread sphinx to the chariots. Tuskers charged chariot flank.

- Ogre Bruisers charged my skeleton bunker

- Bruisers charged my chariots

MAGIC: This turn the Wrath of God came down. It killed some skeletons and archers and also one bull.

Turn 3 - Cursed Kings

MOVEMENT:

- I charged to Tuskers flank with Hierophants bunker

- I charged to Great Khan Unit with battlesphinx (he could barely see it)

MAGIC:

- I casted rerolls to hit and to wound for the Sphinx and perhaps managed to heal my unit or something like that.

SHOOTING:

- Stalkers killed ogre unit

CLOSE COMBAT:

- My hierophant + dreadsphinx battle went great, My opponent broke and my Dreadsphinx overran to Great Khan. (on retrospective I probably should have tried to restrain pursuit with skeletons and reform instead towards the other tuskerunit.

- Great Khan unit was evaporated and battlesphinx pursuited and detroyed fleeing tusker ( I wasn't sure should I be able to reform after pursuit / overrun to fleeing unit. in the 8th I think there was a rule to do so, but at this moment I didn't care to check up the rule)

Turn 3 - Ogre Khans

Tusker Cavalry charged the flank of skeleton bunker and cave them harsh treatment.

Turn 4 - Cursed Kings

MAGIC:

- I probably managed to heal my mage bunker and perhaps cast ws reduction to tuskers or something like that.

COMBAT

- I lost the combat, but managed to reform still

TURN ANALYZE:

- In this turn one of the biggest mistakes I made during the game happend with the dreadsphinx. With little batter placement I could have used them to destroy those bruisers.

Turn 4 - Ogre Khans

Turn 5 - Cursed Kings

Stalkers managed to kill monster ( I casted rerolls to shooting attacks just incase) I was left with one skeleton after the battle. In the next turn my opponents scrapalauncher missed.

NOW we made a mistake during the game, we probably miscalculated turns as we though that this was turn 6. Clock was allready something like 2 am so no wonder. Given the situtaion presented here I would have pretty good chance of destroying those bruisers with sphinx and perhaps manage to get in to the secondary object with skeletons. Naturally my opponent would have equally good chance of killing my remaining skeletons with scrapalauncher. Additionally I might have decent chance of using stalkers + danse macabre to destroye the scrapalauncher also. So I make bold suggestion that should we have played another turn it would mostlikely ended up in more favorable position for me than my opponent. But game was set and it is now official record in our local gaming club tournament.

GAME ended 13 - 7
