Deployment

My lvl 4 got desert winds, righteous smiting, vengeance and dissecation

my opponent deployed first and won the first turn roll

Turn 1 - Warriors of Chaos

No failed stupidity. My opponent marched right on. Since he didn't have any magic or shooting it was pretty fast. Throgh revealed fungus forest. The other troll unit was just 4 wide and it firret right past the forests.

Turn 1 - Cursed Kings

I decided to charge with Necrosphinx and try to kill his general with lucky shot.

Magic was 5+1 and +1 from casket. I failed native roll of 3 pd smiting on ushabtis. Then tried to casket, but my opponent dispelled it.

At shooting I did reasonable damage on both troll units that wasn't unengaged. Ushabtits over performed with wounding hits, but that darn regeneration...

At close combat I failed to land HKB (which I hoped for). Sphinx got 2 wounds and Throgg got 1 wound. I lost the combat with 3 which was actually wrong since he had 2 ranks and 2 wounds and I had charge and one wound. And he was actually in the forest so he wouldn't have received rank bonuses either. se We would have actually drawed the battle ;)

Turn Analyze:

- I don't think that Necrosphinx charge was that bad,. It might have even broken the unit since it was in the forest. During the game I totally forgot that, and my main goal with that move was to stop that troll unit movement any further. Of course I also wanted to try lucky shotting his general with HKB and getting those dumb trolls to fail their stupidities. But more so I wanted to stop that unit from moving. I was fairly confident that sphinx would hold at least one turn and using 225 points for that might be rather over spend given that I could have used horse archers for the job, on the othe

- I totally failed my chariots this turn (or actually in deployment) they are just... bricks... bricks bricks... Original idea behind "conga lining".... i dont know what I though. but I wanted to have them on same side, since I wanted to focus my force. And that left flank was pretty protected since there was that building.

Turn 2 - Warriors of Chaos

He charged to building.

He played necrosphinx battle first. I did few wounds on the troll unit by directing only the HKB strike to throgg,. Sphinx died due last wound. My skeletons managed to do a wound against the trolls and he only killed 5 skellies. so crumbled only 4. Fear building skeletons!

Turn 2 - Cursed Kings

My other swarm died from EBtS missfire.

I charged with carrions and Warsphinx to the flank of troll unit. that first chariot was out of front arc and second chariot couldnt charde because the first one was in its way.

I left the bulding with my hierophant.

Magic was 5+5 and 2 casket. I first casted 3 pd for dissecation for the troll unit. then 5 pd on bubble smiting, but failed it miserably with total roll of 17. Then tried to 4 dice casket, but my opponent dispelled it.

At cc. carrions really performed along side with sphinx. I had hard time to decide wether use breath weapon in this combat, but then I though that I would win the combat but he would be stead fast. To my best surprise he failed LD 8 (not so hard) and I cathed him.

Turn 3 - Warriors of Chaos

He charged my swarm.

That other troll unit reform was little illegal since the center point moved but I usually don't want to complain too much of that short of things. I allready hate those bulding rules anyway and having being stuck within 1 inch from the building with hindered ability to move around it is enough "punishment for me. Anyway he changed the formation to 4 wide.

Tomb swarms managed to do 2 wounds with poison! Fear the swarm!

Turn 3 - Cursed Kings

Movement to hinder his main troll unit movement with HA and scorp.

Magic was 5 + 4 , +1 casket . I used 3 PD for dissecation on Troll bsb unit, then I used 3 PD for vengeance on the troll bsb unit, too bad manged only to reduce movement by 1. Then tried to smite ushabtis but my opponent dispelld it, then tried lucky 1 shot for casket, but failed.

I concentrade all shooting at BSB troll unit and did some damage on it.

Turn 4 - Warriors of Chaos

No stupdidity fails. He managed to move past my forces and charge in ushabtis. Vengeance managed to do little damage on them.

On combat that dissecation really hindered that troll unit and I actually lost the combat only for 2 if my memory serves me right. My ushabtis rolled like they would have sacrificed a goat to lady dices. They managed to do total 18 wounds on trolls, but only 5!!! only 5 got past regeneration...

Turn 4 - Cursed Kings

I did multiple charge on bsb troll unit. My chariots rolled triple 1 and they needed something like roll of 4 to get in combat.

Magic was again pretty high something like 10 dices. I used 2 pd for desert winds and parked my Horses in front of his trolls. Then I tried to cast dissecation on bsb troll unit but my opponent dispelled it. Then I managed to cast buuble smiting and it reached every model in the army.

At shooting I managed to some wounds with tons of str 3 shots against throggs unit.

Carrions / warsphinx and ushabtis really nailed those trolls.

Turn analyze:

- I did one mistake in my pursuit movements. I first "pursuit" moved with ushabtis so they hitted warpshinx and was left in that place. This denied swift reform later turn and I might have needed ushabtis CC abilities in the last battle.

Turn 5 - Warriors of Chaos

My opponent crushed horse archers and overran to carrions

Turn 5 - Cursed Kings

I did multiple charge to throggs troll unit.

I decided to take my archers from the side. I firstly tried to do swift reform with ushabtis, but they were too close the edge to pergom it.

I got again a cap in magic. I tried to use dissecation on trolls but my opponent dispelled it. Then used 5 pd smiting, got IF and caskaded away. I lost 1 chariot in the unit that wasn't in combat and few archers. Other than that I didn't get any damage from crumble.

At close combat chariots impact hits really nailed some trolls to the ground. (was it total 7 wounds past regeneration. as expected my carrions were killed. Best part was that they died exactly by 10 wounds. I used breat weapon in this combat and almost managed to strip his last rank. Then I realized that I didn't have since rank so he was still steadfast. Allthouhg he lost the combat with just 2 points.

turn analyze:

-My original idea with the archer movement this was to get flank charge with ranked models in hope of disruption / steadfast breaking. Mainly due Jimmy suggestion from my 27.1.2014 battle against lizardmen when he implied that I could use my mage bunker in this way. I wasn't complete sure if it possible for character to leave building / unit same time as unit leaves building, but I don't see no reason why this coudln't happend. First of all when I did this I was little slobby since they actually didn't get in to the flank. And the other more important part was that they actually blocked ushabtis charge.... Bad decision.

- As I pointed out earlier if I would have allowed ushabtis to do their pursuit move even little further they would have been able to squeesh their ranks little deeper and would have really being able to charge turn 6.

Turn 6 - Warriors of Chaos

Sphinx and smiting chariot on the flank was too much for Trolls. They were steadfast but breaking ld 8 isn't too hard. Too bad I failed to get them and due scorpion and horsemen they blocked those models charge next turn.

Turn 6 - Cursed Kings

I got like one wound for ushabtis with crumble. My horse archers survived again with ld 5 and perhaps some arhcers died. I used the only model cabable to charge those trolls. luckily they didn't run too far. I charged past that forest failed one DT and other chariot destroyed due that. But luckily it catched those runaway trolls.

Final score was 2539 - 955
