Deployment

I won the deployment roll. Too bad He had so many vanguard so my ”vanguard” block wasn't perfect

My hierophant had Desert Winds, Smiting, Vengeance and Deccication

His mage had Awaking of woods, Flesh to stone, Throne of Vines and Shield of thorns

I won the first turn roll

Turn 1 - Cursed Kings

I moved with horse archers and revealed the river. I decided to stay at their place with my arhers.

Magic: WOM 1+4, casket +3

I casted upgraded Vengeance with 4 pd on Witch Elves and my opponent tried to dispel it but rolled horribly. I managed to roll -3 movement for them.

I tried to Smite one of my archer unit with 2 pd, but failed it due concentration =(.

I used last two pd on Caskets Light of Death on Shades and they was unharmed. Then it bounced to Dark Riders destroyed them completely and shades ran off the table. Then it bounced on another dark rider group and killed 4 of them, then bounced to reaper without damage and bounce stopped.

Shooting:

First screaming skull catapult rolled hit against Executioners, killing 6 models in total and managed to invoke panic. Best part was that my opponent rolled exactly 9 both times and because he had Sorceress as general and I had -1 ld upgrade on catapult he failed it.

Socend SSC hitted directly on cauldron and managed to do 4 wounds on it killing few Witches along side. My archers killed Doom fire warlocks and I shooted little damage to witch elves.

At the end of shooting my chariots received damage from haunted Mansion =(

Turn Analyze:

- Of course I couldn't have quessed that my Casket would have performed so well on the top (killing two unit and decimationg to single model one other) In this perspective I should have advanced a bit so my archers would have had much more attacks against the witch elves. On the other hand I really should have backed up, since I would have got good targets on those fast cavalries.

- Magic was excellent.

Turn 1 - Dark Elves

My opponent decided to stay put since he had only 2 inch movement and he didn't want to risk his cauldron and elves on Dangerous terrain. He managed to rally Executioners. He used last dark rider to reveal mysterious forest inside. For some reaosn he didn't want to move those doomfire warlocks at all.

Magic: Wom was something like... say 3+4 ? pretty average I guess.

My opponent casted with 2 pd throne of vines and rolled 1 and 2... So lost concentration. Then he used doombolt to kill horse archers and managed to kill 3 models.

He used multiple shots to kill some of the archers.

Turn 2 - Cursed Kings

Archers on the forest failed Stupidity check. I decided to advance with my archers full steam ahead.

Magic: WoM ... something average + casket ?

I casted bubble smiting with 5 pd and my opponent decided to let it go ( I rolled very high mostly 4 and 5) The 24 bubble reached even those river chariots.

I tried to cast vengeance on the witch elves but it got dispelled.

I tried to one die desert winds so that I could would had another 40 shots against witch elves but failed it.

Shooting:

I tried to hit Executioners with both SSC but one of the missfired and lost second turn and the other just missed, almost hitted my own archers on the scatter =)

I got total of 120 shots againsta witch elves. 5+ hitting 4+ wounding againts 5+ ward. I managed only kill 8 models. On the other hand mathematical average was 13,2 so it wasn't so far away from it.

hat was rather underwhelming. My chariots atleast killed that one last dark rider. Those horse archers failed to do any damage on doomfire warlocks.

At the end of the turn I realized that I forgot my EBtS completely and we decided that they were delayed as "punsihment" ;)

Turn analyze:

- Remember EBtS always

Turn 2 - Dark Elves

My opponent decided to go full steam ahead. He didn't want to go thorugh the venom thicket perhaps feared too much of DT so he started to wheel around it.

Magic was average again

My opponent rolled for thrones of vines again with 2 pd and got again 1+2 and failed his concentration... I have to say that I had really really really hard time of not laughing my ass off.

His warlocks spells got dispelled.

Shooting was next to nothing.

Turn 3 - Cursed Kings

Now I remembered my EBtS but I rolled missfire and delay with both my scoprions. Necrokinghts arrived with a little scatter. I walked backwards with my archers, but I stepped out from the forst with another. My horse archers on the rear blocked Executioners reform.

Magic: WoM 6+6

I casted Vengeance on the Witch elves and again my opponent failed to dispel it.

I casted Deccication on Witch Elves and it went through.

I tried to kill Reaper with casket and failed

Shooting:

One of my catapult missfire last turn so no shooting for it. The other missed Executioners and it scattered away.

I shooted mostly on witch elves and this time killed about 8 of them.

Turn analyze:

- On this turn I should have focused much more on Doomfire warlocks. I really underestimated them.

Turn 3 - Dark Elves

He charged with his Sorcerss and Warlocks. He diced to reform with witch elves and didn't fail any DT. Executioners passed march block and went full steam ahead.

Magic was something like 5+5 and channeled 1

He finaly managed to cast Throne of Vines on his mage. Then he IF flesh to stone on Witch Elves and ignored the misscast due Throne. He debuffed archers that were fighting against sorceress with soulblight. I failed to dispel it.

He maanged to kill one of my Knight with shooting.

At close combat those Warlocks really bounded my lowly skeletons. 2x str 4 reroll to hit reroll ones to wound. I managed to kill 1 of them and then crumbled. He overrunned on the next combat. Sorceress wasn't so powerfull but managed to win combat.

Turn 4 - Cursed Kings

Bot of my scorpion missfired again and I rolled shifting sands on both. I used shift reform on necropolish knights and I just barely by 0,5 inch managed to move them out of witch elves front arc. I moved horse archers to block witch elves movement. Chariot reformed and my Hierophant archers went backwards.

Magic was pretty avarega.

I managed to cast deccication on Warlocks. My opponent dispelled smiting. I managed to one die casket and killed Repaer.

Shooting, My catapults both hitted Executioners and really decimated their ranks. They were pretty much only targets that I could shoot besided T 7 Witch elves,. I rolled way better than average and he failed most of his 5+ heavy armors.

At close combat I Won the sorceress but he didn't break. I combat reformed little, but since I decided to got first with supreme sorceress I couldn't do much since the other unit was in the way. Doomfire Warlocks really bounded that other unit and beside reduce in STR they still managed to do almost maximum damage, but that wasnt enough and I was left with 4 skele archers. Those heroic archers killed 2 warlocks.

Turn 4 - Dark Elves

At magic my opponent decided to cast shield of thorns on the sorceress, but I dispelled it. He tried to cast soulblight on the arhcers, but failed. He tried to shoot my scorpion on the bottom.

As expected his Warlocks killed my last skeletons but wasn't able to overrun!

Turn 5 - Cursed Kings

I tried to double charge reaper with my scorpion and horse archers. Scorpion failed. Other horse archers flanked the sorceress.

At magic I casted bubble Smiting with Overkill on my mind.

On shooting, I tried to catapult Cauldron, and managed to hit it, but didn't do wounds.

I shooted 52 x str 3 shots against 2 warlocks and managed to kill only 1 model... At the end of the turn I remembered that I had multiple shots on those models since I did bubble smiting.

At close combat my Horse Archers managed to roll double 6 with armor saves and broke the reaper! Supreme sorcerer. died due massive ammount of str 3 attacks.

I realized while doing this battle report that we made a error in turn calculation. We both though this was turn 6.

Turn analyze:

- Remember what Magical buff you give to your units.

Turn 5 - Dark Elves

He tried to charge with single warlock (total 3 attack 2 from rider and 1 from steed) And tried to kill my hierophant. He tried to charge with witch elves but failed it.¨

at magic he tried to soulblight my hierophants unit but I dispelled it.

At close combat he managed to do 1 wound on hierophant.

We ended the game here, and at the time we played we though it was turn 6 allready....

Final Score was 1429 - 260
