Deployment

I won both table edge choice and first deployment. Deployment order was

- Reavers (left)

- Longbeards

- Reavers (right)

- Crossbowmen

- Silverhelms (right)

- Ironbreakers

- Silverhelms (left)

- Hammerers

- Silverhelms (middle)

- dwarf characters

- Rest of the elves.

I had scouts. I could have blocked his vanguards, but I really didn't want to. I won the vanguard first pick, and I decided to move the left reavers first ( I wanted to allow him to come closer). Then I vanguarded backwards with my reavers. He used the Hammerers vanguard to revel the forest and decided to stay out of it.

My opponent won the first turn.

Turn 1 - Dwarfs

Magic 4+4, +1 PD from anvil

- Rune of Hearth and home 2 PD, succesfull

- Rune of oath and steel (hammerers). 3 PD, succesfull

- Rune of wrath 4 PD, IF and all the shadow warriors died.

No shooting, no close comats.

Turn 1 - High Elves

Frost phoenix had to land in forest. Survived dangerous terrain and wild woods.

Magic 1+1, No channels, no stolen dices

- Spirit leech (vs runesmith) 2 PD, rolled snake eyes and with BoH reroll 1 turned into 2.

I forgot that skycutter crew had bows.

Turn 2 - Dwarfs

No wild wood damage on hammereres.

Magic 5+1 +1 PD from anvil, +1 PD channel.

- Rune of oath and steel (hammerers) 4 PD, IF.

Quarrellers shot eagle down. Thankfully my bsb allowed phoenix to reroll.

Swordmasters killed 3 hammerers and died. My silver helms managed to kill two longbeards and longbeards killed 4 of them. unfortunately I ran of the board. my opponent restrained pursuit.

Turn 2 - High Elves

I decided to risk wild woods. rather poor choice, lost 3 swordmasters. Passed all the Dangerous terrains for reavers and frost phoenix

Magic 1 + 2 no channels. No stolen dices

- Miasma (Hammerers) 1 PD, succesfull decreased 1 WS

- Iceshard (Hammerers) 2 PD, dispelled.

Again forgot that skycutter can shoot.

At close combat my reavers managed to win the combat but failed to break the quarrellers, who subsequently reformed. At the multiple combat brawl I did tons of damage. Those lion cubes punished the hammerers. Frosty was really weak at this match. He was stubborn (from either steadfast or some other effect) so naturally 10 reroll ld.

Turn 3 - Dwarfs

I don't know what an earth I was thinking when I did that reaver redirect. I decided to flee with it and it went pretty far away. my opponent redirected to whitelions rear.

Magic: 4+6 + 1 PD from Anvil, 1DD channeled

- Wrath of Ruin (BSB noble) 6 PD, dispelled 7 DD

- Rune of oath and steel (Ironbreakers) 5 PD

No shooting.

Quarrellers broke reavers but failed to catch them.

The massive brawl in the middle was really nice multiple combat hell. My lions did nice damage on hamemrers leaving only 2 alive. Frosty managed to kill the runesmith and since it couldn't stay in B2B contact it was dropped out from before laying thunder stomps. Longbeards also couldn't nudge forward when the whitelions rear was carved away by faster choppoing ironbreakers. Hammerers nailed the last swordmasters. I had two stubborn rerollable units holding the battle down. (in our games we allow reforming after dropping out of combat allthough there is strong RAW that it coudn't be done.

Turn 3 - High Elves

No damage from wildwoods nor dangerous terrain for birdy. This picture was little off but the skycutter was at the flank of the longbeards.

Magic 1+2, +1 PD channel.

- Iceshard (Longbeards) 2 PD, spellbreaked

- Miasma (Longbeards) 2 PD, dispelled

At close combat reavers managed to break quarrellers and catched them. Silverhelms killed both hammerers and nudged in b2b with ironbreakers. As other whitelion unit dropped from combat. Ironbreakers finished remaining lions and caused the silverhelms to break. Lions paniced from the break. My opponent restrained pursuit and reformed to face frosty..

At the longbeard battle no many beards were leff. My noble and silverhelms were dropped out from battle. 5 Longbeards was left . Too bad they were stubborn and holded. As now there was more room I reformed from victory to bring more models in b2b contact.

Turn 4 - Dwarfs

No damage from wild woods.

Magic 2 + 4, + 1 PD from anvil. No channels

- Rune of oath and steel (Ironbreakrers) 4 PD, Dispelled.

- Rune of wrath and ruin (Whitelions) 2 PD, 2 dead lions.

At close combat I managed to kill rest of the longbeards and my phoenix guard + sku cutter was dropped from combat. My frosty got 3 wounds from ironbreakers / Lord and managed to do little damage in return. I lost by little (wouldn't have lost if even 1 longbeard would have survived.

Turn 4 - High Elves

This picture is way off, but unfortunately I didn't take irl pictures of this. I placed the Reavers so that his pursuit would redirect flank to phoenix guards. Unfortunately the wild wood punished my Frosty. I failed to rally with silver helms and white lions.

Magic: 1+6, no channels

- Iceshard (Ironbreakers) 3 PD, dispelled

- Miasma( (Ironbreakers) 1 PD, dispelled

- Wyssans (frost phoenix) 3 PD, dispelled (hard choice wether trying to use lore of life to heal the phoenix or cut lords wounding from 5+ to 6+. I decided to add wyssans so I would have better chance of killing the bsb.

At close combat my frosty managed to kill his thane, but he didn't survive. My opponent reformed (too bad I wanted to have them pursuit)

Turn 5 - Dwarfs

He charged my bsb. No damage from wild woods.

Magic: 4+1 +1 PD from anvil.

- Rune of Steel (Ironbreakers) 5 PD Irrestible force

Cloak of Beards destroyed the lords armor and units banner ( We wasn't complete sure can it destroy banners, but it seemed so) Lord and noble faced in a Brutal challenge. He did two wounds (thanks crown!) to me and I did 3. Lost combat by little but holded.

Turn 5 - High Elves

Magic: 6+6, no channels

- Iceshard (Ironbreakers) 5 PD, dispelled

- Earthblood, healed noble by 1. 2 PD, succesfull casted

- Wyssans (Phoenix guard) 3 PD, succesfull casted

- Miasma (Ironbreakers) 2 PD, succesfull casted -2 WS

At close combat I killed something like 10-15 ironbreakers. Out challenge ended in draw as my eagels stomp and his lords GW strikes killed both. He holdded.

Turn 6 - Dwarfs

Magic 6+5 +1 from anvil

- Rune of Oath and steel (Ironbreakers) 6 PD, Irrestible force.

At close combat there were only two models left and they broke off.

At the last turn I tried to charge to anvil with my SIlver Helms but as expected it wasn't destroyed.

Game ended in 6th turn. 2358 - 1047
